Responsibilities include:
● Advising on adaptive equipment to help patients complete daily activities.
● Preparing patients for a return to work.
● Educating caregivers and family members of patients on patient care.
● Evaluating client results and progress of occupational therapy goals.
● Maintaining required professional continuing education in order to provide clients with the best treatment program available.
● Complying with federal, state, and local certification requirements.
● Evaluating patient condition regarding physical and basic mental health.
● Address patient’s aspects of performance to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being and life quality
● Select and adapt the appropriate patient-centered occupational therapy treatment model, method and approach to provide appropriate interventions
● Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL)
● Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use
● Guide and educate family members and caregivers
● Possess up-to-date knowledge of evidenced based treatment practices and occupational therapy programs.
● Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
● Ability to treat all clients
● Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.
● Ability to assess patient conditions and work with treatment plans.
We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience providing occupational therapy assistant to patients in a home setting and who has the following qualifications:
● Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program or American Occupational Therapist Association Certification
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE, & REGISTRATION
● Certified by the National Board for Certification.
● Compliant with state healthcare regulatory requirements.
● Licensure by State
● Minimum of 2 years of Occupational Therapy with patients in an home care/outpatient environment
● Current driver’s license and automobile liability insurance
● CPR Certification
